UOWHO- Bracelets that are spreading change

Check out this fun idea that helps spread kindness and gives you a daily reminder on your own wrist! The concept of UOWHO is simple, but holds a powerful message: make the world a better place, one nice gesture at a time!

UOWHO is a rubber band bracelet that has 10 tabs on it. Each tab represents a good deed. You put the bracelet on and look for an opportunity to help some one in need. When the opportunity arises, you remove one of the 10 tabs from the bracelet and give your bracelet to the person you helped. You explain the purpose of the bracelet and ask them to continue the process.
If you are an individual, non-profit or company looking to encourage kindness, check them out and get your bracelet today!

  1. Thanks so much for the plug!It is very early days for us at UOWHO but we are very excited by the reaction we are getting from both individuals and organizations. Most of the people I engage with via our social networks see the pay-it-forward aspect of Acts-of-Kindness as THE essential element. This is the key with our UOWHO bracelets - they are a tangible reminder to the wearer to be alert to others who may be in need of help. This is where the possibilities for people to make a profound difference in the world through a little act of kindness are so exciting for us. If each recipient pays forward the act of kindness done for them, each of our bracelets can reach ten others in a continual chain of giving. Not bad for a simple silicon bracelet costing $1 each.

Where it gets even more exciting is when it comes to nonprofits, and even companies, using the bracelet to raise either funds, or awareness, or both. We can 'brand' the bracelets with a logo, or name, or website address so that an organization can benefit from a 'giving' campaign, and in a very proactive way (great PR as well)! We are working with the International Cancer Advocacy Network (ICAN) on just such a campaign, for example.

I often hear how one little act of kindness can create a ripple effect that can spread infinitely. Well, that is what UOWHO was set up to do. But it is you, individually, that starts that ripple. All it takes is that first act!
